How to Get into UGA SAT and ACT Scores, GPA and More
Thinking about moving to Athensââ¬âAthens, Georgia, that is? Youll find one of three universities claiming to be Americas first there. Youll also find a whole lot more, including vibrant green space, 100-160. Basically, 25% of students admitted to UGA score above 1460 on the SAT; 25% score below 1300. Heres the most recent breakdown from UGA: Math590-680 Evidence-Based Reading and Writing610-690 One thing to note is that, although successful applicants can and do score below this middle 50% range, the minimum score UGA will accept on the SAT is 430 in Critical Reading and 4 international students, as well as students from 49 different states are represented in the class of 2023. (Its more expensive without the great in-state tuition, but still less expensive than many private schools.) FAQ Does UGA have more than one location? This can be a little tricky: basically, theres one main UGA location (thats in Athens), but there are numerous campuses depending on what youre looking for, what youre studying, and what degree youre pursuing. A map will definitely come in handy! Does UGA require the SAT or ACT essay? Not at all. In fact, they note on their website that they wont look at these scores even if you submit them. Dont worry if you submitted themââ¬âit wont hurt your chances, they just wont be taken into account. If you are applying to schools other than UGA though, make sure that none of them require the essay before foregoing it altogether! Can you apply early action at UGA? For some, this may not be the best fit, but if you have strong scores and grades and want a stress-free, quick application, this is for you. Applying took me less than 45 minutes. One tip would be to go ahead and send in your SAT or ACT scores as you take the test, rather than waiting to send them later. UGA superscores, so you have nothing to lose by sending them in ASAP. Does UGA have a waitlist? Yes! But if youve been waitlisted, there arent great odds of eventually getting accepted: 51 out of 531 students did in 2018. Make sure you (gently, once) express your continued interest in UGA to the admissions office if its your dream school and youre waiting to hear back. How to Get Into UGA UGA admissions are competitive. However, if you take the time to make your UGA application as strong as it can beââ¬âworking on getting your scores up to average UGA SAT scores or average UGA ACT scores or even higherââ¬âyou improve your odds of getting in.
